You'll often hear me saying, "I have the best clients". I feel so lucky to have worked with the people that I have over the past several years. Every builder seems to attract a "type" of client and I think that my typical clients are people who have worked very hard for many years and yes, they can afford a second home but they have a budget that they want to stick to.
I enjoy working with clients who are involved in the process of the construction. I think I'm an educator by nature and I like to help my clients to understand the process and guide them through selecting finishes that will make their house reflect their style yet blend with mountain living. As you will read below, I have wonderful clients that I remain in contact with long after the project is finished.
Thank you all for your kind words and support.
When I retired my wife and I decided to build a second home in Glenville. Being retired and needing something to do while my wife worked a few more years, I wanted a contractor that would be flexible enough to allow me to do some of the interior woodwork, trims and cabinets. After interviewing several contractors we decided to become one of Moore Construction's first clients.
Moore Construction allowed us to set the schedule, respected our budget and worked with me which, allowed me to do much of the interior finishes myself. Whenever I needed them to step back in they were there.
We were thrilled with the finished home and with the final cost. As a City Administrator I had a lot of experience with contractors and developers. It would be difficult to find a contractor as flexible and willing to stay with you after the job is done as Moore Construction.

Having Moore Construction build our home has been one of the best decisions we have ever made. Susanne was able to design our home based on our ideas, and her very "able" and proficient sub contractors were able to build and finish the nearly 4000sqft structure within one year.
Susanne monitored the entire process from beginning to end, and her attention to detail was much appreciated. We were totally satisfied with the construction of our home, and would highly recommend her to anyone who is thinking of building in this area.
One last comment would be that Susanne has followed up throughout this first year by taking care of a few small glitches, for which we are very grateful. We would be happy to have Susanne show you our home should you like to see an example of her expertise.

I shutter to think what my house would have looked like had Moore Construction not done the design work. The thoughts my wife and I had were clearly off the mark. Moore Construction's subcontractor's skills were the best of the four different renovations I have done to my house over the years.
Susanne kept the project on schedule and her crews did a great job. Susanne certainly made the process as simple for us as possible and her constant contact was appreciated. The many digital pictures that were emailed to us made the long distance construction project so much easier for us.
I think the best compliment I could pay to anyone is whether I would refer them to someone else and whether I would use that person again in another project. The answer to both of those questions is a resounding yes. I look forward to Susanne helping us again the future.

We could not be happier with our Moore Construction built cabin in Cashiers. We took our time after purchasing our dream lot to find the perfect builder. After visiting several Moore Construction homes under construction and some that were completed, we knew Susanne was the right builder for us.
We provided her with our list of requirements for our cabin and she designed and built the cabin of our dreams. We found our relationship with Susanne, during the building process, to be easy and comfortable. We loved her creative ideas such as framing our master tub beautifully with log accents.
One of our favorite details of the cabin is the beautiful wood trim throughout. Another thing that really impressed us was how we were provided a blueprint that included the different angles of the sun throughout the four seasons and how to best situate the cabin on the lot. Through the years,
we have heard horror stories from people about how awful it is to build a house in the mountains, but we had a great working relationship with Moore Construction and would not change a thing if we had to do it all again!

We want to thank Moore Construction for doing a wonderful job building our mountain home and making it fun and easy. Not only we spend many happy years there, our children look forward to bringing their children to the home which, means a lot to us all.
I have built several homes over the years and Susanne is without a doubt the most professional builder I have ever worked with. She created a great set of plans, priced them out and went to work. She minded our budget and kept impeccable records. Moore Construction employed a team of superb craftsman who's workmanship is the highest I have encountered in all of the homes I have built over the years. Quite frankly this is the finest home I have ever owned.
It is an extremely solid house and attention to detail is evident throughout the construction. Our home display's energy efficiencies and the design esthetics of mountain living. We could always reach Susanne with questions and she made the process fun to watch. Moore Construction exceeded our every expectation. Thank you so much.

In September of 2008 we hired Moore Construction to do an additional porch roof for our back deck for our home on Lake Glenville. During construction the crew found wood rot due to leaky windows and poor flashing details. As a result the crew had to tear apart the existing window wall and replace headers and studs, reinstall the old windows, trim and paint the interior and exterior. It seemed like a tremendous undertaking to us but Moore Construction's subcontracting crew jumped on it and got it done before the cold weather set in just before Thanksgiving.
Then Moore Construction was able to build the porch roof over our existing deck to help to cut down on the amount of sunlight into our greatroom and help with driving rain from the lake. If we were to build a new home again, we would certainly hire Moore Construction to do the job.

I wanted to take a minute to let Susanne know how much Susan and I are enjoying our dream home in the wonderful mountains of North Carolina. When we met Susanne the first time, I showed her a picture of an idea that we were considering for the great room of the home we wanted to build. We hoped to take advantage of heart pine post and beams I had gathered from an old Mississippi cotton warehouse built in the late 1800's. Susanne's willingness to listen to our ideas and help us expand on them, made for a very pleasant experience. She helped us design our entire home around the heart pine post and beam theme and her attention to every detail continues to be greatly appreciated. Even though we threw a lot of ideas her way, she always took them in stride and was very accommodating.
Moore Construction's subcontractors were top notch and the interior trim carpenter Tom, and his crew went the extra mile on our trimwork. When we would come and check on the progress, we were always pleasantly surprised with some of the innovative ideas they came up with, at times Susan would even shed tears of joy after finding some little surprise they had incorporated since our last visit. We just wanted to let Susanne know that we have enjoyed every minute in our home and would gladly recommend her without reservation. Thank you for making our dream come true.
