The Woodsgroup project is a home that was purchased by my client for the properties location and terrain. Not many areas in the mountains are as level as the yard at this home. My client sometimes travels by helicopter and needed a place to build a pad for landing and a hanger for storing his helicopter. The home was sitting vacant for a while and in need of a lot of esthetic renovation work. This home is a prime example of wood siding that is stained when constructed with no additional upkeep for approximately 8 years. I sometimes get clients who want to put a clear sealer on natural wood siding and I often advise against it for this reason. Pigment in siding stain helps to protect the wood more than a clear finish, requiring less maintenance.
This home got an addition of a two car garage on the existing foundation. We built a new deck on the back and front porch at the entry. We also gave the home new paint on the outside and inside, electrical, hvac and septic maintenance and updates and new carpet.
The home didn't have any real issues it was the addition of the helicopter landing pad and hanger that created one little problem. The back yard of this home is located in a flood zone so we had to raise the elevation of the grade nearly 4'-0". That required a lot of dirt and gravel fill to prepare it for the slabwork.
